SPECIALIZATIONS
With years of experience in psychotherapy, I remain incredibly enthusiastic about cognitive-behavioral therapy. My practice brings that enthusiasm to training and consulting with clinicians, teams, and organizations.
My approach combines scientifically grounded knowledge and skills with a warm, collaborative, and encouraging style.
My trainings and consultations specialize in Transdiagnostic CBT with a strong emphasis on developing and revising clinical case conceptualizations as the foundation of our treatment plan. In addition to didactic teaching, I employ experiential methods, such as role-playing and modeling to help clinicians learn and practice their skills. I created a series of videos offering demonstrations of many core CBT skills, including cognitive restructuring, cognitive diffusion, relaxation, mindfulness practices, and interoceptive, imaginal and in-vivo exposure practices for anxiety disorders as well as ERP for OCD.
I have a passionate interest in the intersection between the science of the mind and the art of psychotherapy. Throughout the decades of my psychotherapy practice, there has been an explosion of knowledge about the workings of the mind, the neurological underpinnings of emotions and behaviors and the complex connections between the body and the mind.
This research has informed my practice and given me confidence to integrate traditional CBT interventions with mindfulness, relaxation, somatic and other mind-body strategies.
